Sending mobile picture messages has become a favorite activity for many of us. We love the idea of passing images back and forth with the click of a button. This innovative new technology has made the cellular phone more valuable than ever especially for those of us who have to spend a lot of time away from family.

When my sister was having her baby a few weeks ago the occasion was mixed with elation and great sadness. Her father-in-law is suffering from lung cancer and he had to take chemo treatments on the very day of the birth. Of course, he wasn’t able to enter the maternity ward but he could see mobile picture messages of his new grandson from his cell phone.

My sister must have sent at least a dozen pictures of the baby through the mobile picture messages. He even commented that he saw more of the new infant through the phone than he would have in the maternity ward. The mobile picture messages helped him share the special day with his new grandson.

They say that a picture paints a thousand words. It would take a long time to text a thousand words and it would be time consuming to speak them as well. Sending a few mobile picture messages can be a great way to communicate. You can say everything without uttering a single phrase.
